In the period between 1911 and 1915 focuses an enormous number of masterpieces that marked the course of the lyrics throughout the twentieth century what happens when it coincides in time a host of writers and thinkers of unusual brilliance? That for a few years is generated so many masterpieces that make a real golden age of culture. That's what happened in the five years elapsed between 1911 and 1915: the list of essential titles from the published literature and thought in those years is as long and varied one can say, without doubt, that marked the culture of much century, and also that its influence reaches us. It marks the centenary of the days when Mann, Russell, Kafka, Joyce, Roust, Shaw, Conrad, Tara, Freud and a few others, and in Spain the 98 generation as a whole, created their best works, those that are all fees and are required reading for anyone who wants to know the best fruits of creation in the West. Unrepeatable five years that ended with gunfire from a war that some members of that generation could not stand: George Trakl, for example, committed suicide a few months after the start of the conflict, unable to endure such pain and madness, and Rilke lived a long period of creative drought.
