The Union Territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands consisting of about 293 inhabited islands (of which 39 are) is located in the Bay of Bengal. The white sandy beaches have again a drop of lush greenery and surrounded in the clear blue waters of the lagoons of coral reefs is an underwater world full of fish in all kinds of variations. Located halfway between India and Burma, were in the Bay of Bengal, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands at a time inhabited by various tribes which strongly resist all efforts at civilization. Some of these tribes are perhaps among the oldest tribal communities in the world
