Assam was known as Pragjyotisha in the Mahabharata, and in the Kamarupa Millinium. Assam Ahom kingdom shall be called (1228-1826), under the name of the kingdom of Assam known. The British Province of the Indian state after 1838 and after 1947 came as Assam.On 27th February 2006, the Government of Assam to be known, began a process, the name of the state in Asom, a movement which was discussed by the political people to change organizations.Assam and is equipped with oil, natural gas, coal, stone, lime and other minor minerals such as quartz, kaolin, sillimanite, clay and feldspar magnetic.
